Blogging in the classroom.

I think that using blogs in the classroom are a great learning tool for students. It allows them to express their thoughts and feelings on certain topics in a new, exciting way. It promotes collaboration among students as well, where students can comment and respond to their peer's blogs. This allows students to see different viewpoints of other student's. Overall, I think blogs are an excellent tool to us in any classroom setting.

  1. The collaboration that blogging encourages between middle school students and the college-age prospective teachers is a great aspect of the overall Talkback Project. But, even further, it encourages students' peers to comment on each others work. This feedback makes both students more willing to share their writing with others.

  2. I agree with Kelly and you. It's an engaging tool for expressing yourself and for encouraging written conversation among students. I also think that the outside audience of parents and online readers energized the writers as well.

  3. I like the collaboration aspect of blogging in the classroom as well. It's good for a student to recieve different views and insights on different topics. This can build relationships between the students and between the teacher and the class.
